Our building was once the Union Hardware Co. Standing proudly on Second Street, the building featured a small, overhanging marquee with classic storefront windows to feature charming decorations, product displays, and promotional signage.

In 1932, most of the building was destroyed by a fire and all that was left building was the back warehouse. The building was then reconstructed and the beautiful, historic marquee it was known for was rebuilt even larger.

The Ohio Theatre opened in 1936 and was fully-operational until at least the 1950s. We’ve heard the Theatre had 600 seats for patrons and are still seeking to learn more about the history of our building!

In 2012, we opened our second location on Second Street in downtown Marietta! With a thriving small business community, fun events, and historic charm, this location is very special to the Original Pizza Place family.

Since opening, our family-owned business has invested over $1M in care, maintenance, and improvements to our location in downtown Marietta. In spring of 2020, we finally sealed the deal and purchased the building in its entirety, creating a permanent home for Marietta’s OPP location! In 2022 we renovated the marquee and front facade to resemble the historic movie theatre marquee and signage.
